So tonight I decided that I wanted to make a headband with some of my extra fabric I had lying around. I looked at this piece and thought 'hmmmmm...I think I have enough for a skirt'. Two hours later.....voila! The skirt incorporates some of the upcoming Spring's trends: pencil skirts, bright colors (especially oranges) and bold patterns. I'm definitely going to be making a ton of these before the temperature rises.

Bright Pencil Skirt

LBD Amplified
This dress in my most recently made piece. I picked this black because I wanted to keep the dress simple to keep the focus on the design, but the textured fabric adds a unique dimension.
Old Favorites
I was just going through my old albums of things I made while I was still in high school...I think it's time for a blast from the past!

Flower Girl
I grew up around flowers working at my mom's garden shop. I always made sure to bring my camera to work because you never knew which bud was going to open.
City Skyline
I took this on my birthday. My family and I traveled into NYC to go to the fabric district (Unfortunately, I did not see Tim Gunn). Needless to say, I enjoyed myself.
Graduation
This picture I took was published on the cover of my high school's graduation pamphlet in 2011. New doors were opened that day, and this picture represents the doors we would continue to unlock in the future.
The Dickie, Re-Vamped
If you hadn't noticed, there has been A LOT of layering going on lately. My problem with this is the bulk and discomfort caused by button downs, but I love collars. Such an inner turmoil. That's when I had an idea: why not just have a collar? I soon found out that this had previously been done with turtlenecks, given the unfortunate name "dickie". This design has so many possibilities I can't wait to see what new, unique collars I can create.
Poppy Love
Ah, this dress makes me long for summer poppies. I grew up working with my mom, and later working FOR my mom, at her garden shop. Poppies are my favorite flower, so this fabric was a no-brainer. I love the layering in the bodice and the tie in the back. Another plus? There are pockets.
Runway Inspired Skirt
When I made this skirt I knew I wanted something different that made it stand out (hence the pink zipper) so I looked for some inspiration. The runway skirt trends I found are above, and from there I created a pattern, chose my fabric and voila!
The Peplum
I had no intention of making anything peplum related, but when I found this camel wool on sale and saw how well the black suede worked as a contrast, I had to give it a try.
